1992 - YORK TROTTING TRACK
The speedway riders association hosted a long track speedway event on the York trotting track under lights on the 23rd of May 1992, The event was promoted by retired solo star Glyn Taylor.
Taylor who had retired from speedway due to injury turned his interests to promoting.
Solo riders Michael Carter, Lee Redmond, Guy Wilson and Marshall McDiarmid headed the nominations along with Nigel Flatman who clocked the fastest solo speed at 169 km per hour.
Multiple Australian and state champ's Dennis Nash and Jeff Gittus had to watch Russell Mitchell and Red Page set fastest time on their Yamaha 1000 at 182 km per hour.
this was the first long track motorcycle event held in WA in about thirty years.
