Orange County Speedway first opened in 1966 as a 1/4 mile dirt oval track, which operated until only 1967, then closed. The track did reopen again, this time as a 5/8 mile dirt oval, only to close again in 1973.

The venue did reopen again in the late 1960's, this time as a 5/8 mile dirt oval, but under the name of Trico Motor Speedway. The venue did close again in 1973.

1983 - ORANGE COUNTY SPEEDWAY
In 1983 the venue did reopen again this time as a 3/8 mile asphalt sealed track. The speedway did close again in 2003.
