1947 - BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY.
Bridgeport Speedway opened in 1947 as a 1/5 mile paved oval speedway track within Candlelight Stadium in Bridgeport Connecticut.
The speedway was very popular initially but that fell away in the early 1950's and finally closed in 1955, never to reopen.
