2023 - SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY AUSTRALIAN SPEEDCAR CHAMPIONSHIP 3rd & 4th March 2023B r o w n w i n s Pre-LimFormer Australian Speedcar Champion Kaidon Brown has taken vctory in the Pre-Lim feature race on night one at Eastern Creek. Brown set the pace early in the race but was passed by American driver, Brady Bacon, however at mid race distance Bacon pulled infield and Brown was back in the lead, but was being pressured by the second of the Americans, Thomas Meseraull. Brown would hold on to win the 25 lap race from Meseraull, 3rd was a fast finishing Kaiden Manders who started out of 12th,

4th place went to the New Zealand driver, Kaleb Currie, with Matt Jackson rounding out the top five.

Brady Bacon from Oklahoma has joined a small elite group of overseas drivers that have won the Australian Speedcar Championship. After a DNF in the previous nights feature, he was hungry for a win.

2023 - SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY SPRINTCAR FEATURE 15th April 2023S a m W a l s h W i n s E a s t e r n C r e e k M a r a t h o nIn a race that lasted an eternity to run because of race stoppages, Sam Walsh fro New South Wales has prevailed in round 15 of the Eastern Creek Speedway Sprintcar Track Championship.
Having qualified off pole position by virture of his win in the dash, Walsh was never headed in the feature. The final results

2023 - SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY SEASON FINALE 13th May 2023Unfortunately due to heavy storms, as well as some hail and continuing showers. The speedways management team have decided to cancel this sheduled event.

It's incredibly disappointing to hear that Eastern Creek Speedway has now closed and that the entire 2023/2024 season schedule at the track has been cancelled.
There are plenty of rumours as to why, but it almost seems irrelevant when you concider the impact this has on the sport of Sprint Car racing and Australian Speedway as a whole.
Its unbelievable to think the track, which was meant to cost $40M to build, has blown out to $100M, held its first race meeting seven months later than scheduled, and is now closed due to ongoing issues.
It feels just as disappointing that although the news has spread, no official word has come out by any of the parties involved.
I'd love to see something from either the track, the government or even Speedway Australia.
What Do I Think Needs to happen ?
[1] : Fix the physical issues with the site ?
[2] : Fix the tender and aggrement to make the place viable ?
[3] : Have the track run by another speedway promotion ?

I think i speak on behalf of most of the speedway fraternity when i say we were all wanting some form of communication from either Eastern Creek Speedway, the New South Wales Government or Speedway Australia on this topic.
[1] : Is the track really closed. ?
[2] : Why is the entire season cancelled. ?
[3] : What's going to happen now. ?
I'v had calls/messages from fans, race teams, drivers, officials, bussiness owners and more from all over Australia, the USA and NZ who appreciate the importance of the situation and are seriously concerned.
This is why i felt obligated to communicate what i did know. [good and bad] through Sprint Car Hub content over the past nine days.
I'm glad we've finally got an update from Speedway Australia.
There are some seriously passionate people at Speedway Australia that I'm proud are involved in our sport.
But the track was designed and built between the New South Wales government and Speedway Australia.
It's been a worrying period for the entire sport, but rest assured that there are people/groups interested in ensuring Speedway thrives in Sydney, who NEED to be involved and WANT to help.
As Iv'e mentioned in previous posts - three things need to happen simultaneously for this place to succeed.
I'am quietly [can i say that on social media. ?] confident that some form of a season can be salvaged, and if/when that happens, Sprint Car Hub will make an effort to support the track and i hope you do too.

What stands out the most to me with the recent statement by Speedway Australia.
[1] It seems Speedway Promotions Pty Ltd are still interested in operating the Eastern Creek Speedway venue.
[2] Speedway Australia are endorsing Speedway Promotions Pty Ltd.
I think there are a few key things to understand in the statement though. The middle paragraph reads. Additionally there has been a misunderstanding regarding Speedway Australia's role in the selection of an operator. If a new tender were to be issued for the venue. Contrary to previous interpretations, Speedway Australia would not be involved in any operator selection process.
