1964 - WIDGIEMOOLTHA SPEEDWAY
Widgiemooltha Speedway is believed to have had a very short life, It is known that it was a car racing track and it was located on the town's recreation grounds, behind the old Widgiemooltha Hotel.

Allan Worrol recalls: I raced on the Widgi track once only in 1964 while I was living in Boulder, I really cant recall any more meetings held there, I think it was a once only event.

2014 - WIDGIEMOOLTHA SPEEDWAY WALKABOUT
The small mining town that was once situated on the main highway has been by-passed with the re-alinement of East West link, a few houses still remain and the old pub is now closed and abandoned with the licience being shifted to the new Roadhouse Hotel-Motel and caravan park, situated on the new highway.
Not much is left of the entire recreation ground facility, The arena is over grown and the concrete cricket pitch with many of the workers names en-scribed in the surface is still playable, The hard stand net ball court is still visibly but falling down, All the out buildings including the toilets are just a cement slab, Many of the local Gum tree's that are planted within the grounds have name plates, honouring those who planted those tree's many years ago.
