1967 - AMAROO PARK RACEWAY.
Amaroo Park, or its Aboriginal meaning :"Beautiful Place"was constructed by Industrialist Oscar Glaser with the vision of creating a complete motor sport venue, Life for this 250 acre complex started as a Motorcycle Scramble track which was not a success at all, The next was a Oiled dirt Short Circuit that was successful. then came the Hill Climb course, More tracks were introduced to the complex, A Short Flat Track Dirt Speedway, A Go Kart track and then finally the sealed Road Course. A 1.2 mile circuit that had been shortened up from the original 2 mile plans. This was because of cost blowout's from when the project was first costed.
The track itself was built in the floor of a valley and wound its way up and down the side of what was reported as a natural amphitheatre that was ideal for spectating
