1954 - MEMPHIS ARKANSAS SPEEDWAY
Memphis Arkansas Speedway when built was a one and a half mile dirt oval circuit, that opened on the 7th of October 1954, The dirt surface has been described as unmanageable and with the estimated cost of sealing the surface at one hundred thousand dollars, the owners soon ran out of money, and closed the track in 1957.
A local farmer by the name of Clayton Eubanks senior then brought the track to harvest catfish, rice and soybeans. The land is now an irrigation dam.
