BEVERLEY (WA)

1947 - BEVERLEY AIRSTRIP CIRCUIT.
The Beverley Motor Racing circuit was built on the abandoned World War 2 Airfield just outside of the town of Beverley, the layout used 2 of the runway that ran at ninety degree's, they were linked together with a winding loop section to for the circuit.
The WA Sporting Car Club hosted a one only meeting at the Beverly Airstrip and that was on a very wet miserable day, the 15th of October 1947.
The winner of the forty five mile main event would be presented with the Ossie Cranston trophy in honour of one of West Australia's pre war ledgends.
Harold Vague won the event driving a Salmon Racecar.

2015 - BEVERLY AIRSTRIP. Walkabout.
Beverly is still very much an active airstrip and is associated with a comprehensive Aviation Museum.
