The ACT Speedway will be up in lights for its first night race meeting in over two decades in a trial run for future night racing in Canberra on Saturday.The ACT has been an outliner on the speedway racing circuit since the closure of Frazer Park Speedway left the capital without night racing, unlike the bulk of the nation.The ACT government gave the National Capital Motorsports Club a tick of approval to host a one-off event, which will be used to evaluate noise from the venue under night time racing conditions.Officials hope it will lay the foundations for permanent change on the Canberra speedway scene at the humble Pialligo Avenue track.The program on the clay surface is slated to consist of legend cars, production sedans, rsa street stockers and rsa junior sedans. |
