2024 - HILLVIEW SPEEDWAY. WEST AUSTRALIAN JUNIOR SEDAN CHAMPIONSHIP. 5th to 7th April 2024.YOUNG JAKE Your a ChampionNot once, but twice and back to back in fact, if you dont mind. Young Jake Leaman from the west coast city of Bunbury, a young champion that has cut his teeth learning the skills of speedway sedan car racing at the famous Bull Ring in Bunbury as well as the many other tracks state wide, has won the West Australian Junior Sedan Championship at Hillview Speedway.
It was far beyond a walk in the park for young Jake, thing's werent going his way initially, so he had to defend his title, starting out of position ten. Mind you that was in a field of quality driver's including Jet Downs, who had gone through the heats

undefeated, earning him pole while on the outside of him was a very quick Jake Fisher.
But just backing up a bit, because of the big car count it was nessesary to hold two B mains, The first took a while to run, there was a big pile up on the first lap that took out Kai Leeson. Then almost straight after that there was another stoppage, this time when both Luke Martin and Cloe Munroe both rolled over. Next to exit the field was Haylee Strelley and Lara Edwards after both crashing, that ended there title's. So by race end it was Luke Roberts, Baxter Trouchet and Kayde Anthony that would transfer. The second B Dash was a bit dull compared to the first, with Vince Lindsay,

Joel Bowman and Sophie Goodwin transfering. Feature time and this is how it went, The green flag drop's and Kaos follows with a couple of spins, Kayde Anthony is out with damage, Restart and Jett Downs takes the lead but!! it is Archie Root that drives hard into the corner from position seven under all the lead pack to hit the front, just briefly as he make a minor mistake and was forced to settle in third, As per usual the Juniors put on a hell of a show, the race continued with both positions and the lead swaping many time.
The pace was blistering and aided by Newmans long straights and sweeping corners, this club run venue's track was in perfect condition, and the home town volunteers run a very slick operation.
As the race progressed and the laps ran down our defending state champion was making his way forward, now in 3rd from position ten young Jake Leaman was within striking distance of the lead. With just five laps remaining Gordon was leading and Leaman in second while Downs, Fisher and Goodwin were locked in a battle for third.
When the checker came out Jackson Gordon would cross the line first but after post race tec inspection's was excluded from the event, this meant that the winner of the 2023 / 2024 West Australian Junior Sedan Championship is Jake Leaman, 2nd Jake Fisher, 3rd Jett Downs, 4th Jackson Goodwin, 5th Mitch Binning, 6th Luke Bailey, 7th Vince Lindsay, 8th Archie Root, 9th Locky Comley, 10th Baxter Trouchet, 11th Max Lang, 12th Noah Bain, 13th Joel Bowman, 14th Harrison Beres.
