1925 - CABARRUS DISTRICT FAIRGROUNDS.
Cabarrus District Fairgrounds or Concord Fairgrounds as it was also known hosted Motor Racing events, from 1925 through to 1934, on the existing 1/2 mile dirt horse racing track. It has been reported that the fairgrounds were off Highway 29.

1950's - CONCORD SPEEDWAY 1
The first of the Concord speedway's was built in the 1950's, It was located off Poplar Tent Road and at the end of Old Speedway Drive. In all seven Nascar Grand National Events were held at this speedway between 1956 and 1959. The track was left abandoned and was reclaimed by nature after it closed.

1950's - CONCORD SPEEDWAY 2
Concord's second speedway was also of Poplar Trent Road near Eve Drive and channing circle. This track also opened in the 1950's. The track was a 1/2 mile dirt oval, it also went under the name of Harris Speedway, New Concord Speedway and Concord International Speedway.
During its life five Nascar Grand National events were held at the speedway,between 1962 and 1964. The track did continue to run into the 1970's before closing on the 26th May 1979.

1982 - CONCORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Concord Motor Speedway opened in 1982 as a combination of a 4/10 mile dirt oval track and a 1/4 mile asphalt oval track.
The Complex was built and owned by Henry Furr and was for ever being upgraded to stay in front of the opposition and keep attracting healthy numbers.During this 1980s period the larger 4/10 mile speedway was paved.

1980's - CONCORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
The smaller 1/5 mile sealed oval was built in the mid to late 1980's initially for Go Kart racing. This track was also reconfigured, with an extra 1/4 mile section added on the Northern section of the oval.

1991 - CONCORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
In 1991 the venue was upgraded further with the 4/10 mile oval reconfigured to a 1/2 mile Tri Oval. The new speedway would attract very healthy fields of Late Model Stock Cars and Super Late Models.

2019 - CONCORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
The entire complex was closed down in July of 2019 and onsold, it would be demolished by 2022.
