1938 - PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY
Port Royal Speedway opened on the 10th of September 1938 as a 1/2 mile dirt oval track speedway. Like every other track in America and around the world, World War 2 put a hold on motor racing.

1946 - PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY
Port Royal did reoped in 1946 after the war ended and has run non stop through to today running regular weekly events. Currently featuring on the program are Sprintcars, Late Model Sedans and Pro Stock dirt track racing.
The venue has been nicknamed the "Speed Palace" by some. Several national touring series visit Port Royal during the racing season, including the World of Outlaws Late Model Sedan series and the All Star Circuit of Champions.
