1973 - HACKNEY SPEEDWAY. Daily Mirror International Speedway Tournament. 6th July 1973.England Defeats PolandEngland has defeated Poland 45 points to 32 in this round of the Daily Mirror International Tournament at Hackney Speedway in London.
The series featured seven countries competing against each other with twenty four matches held over the space of nineteen days at eighteen different tracks.

1976 - HACKNEY SPEEDWAY. Marlboro Southern Rider's Championship [round] 21st May 1976.Dave Jessup wins with Max PointsHackney Speedway has tonight hosted a round for the Marlboro Southern Riders Championship.
Dave Jessop has won the event with a score of 15 points maximum, from Gordon Kennett 14, Dave Morton 13 and Keith White on 12.
Nominated to ride at this meeting was the Swedish star Tommy Jansson. He however was tragically killed in a race fall yesterday at the Gubbaengens Idrottsplads Speedway in Stockholm during a world championship qualifying round, he was only 23.
All of Janssons rides at Hackney were left uncovered as a mark of respect with only three riders competing in those heat taces.
