1929 WASHINGTON RACEWAY
Washington Raceway opened in 1929 as a 1/2 mile dirt oval track, In the mid 1930's the tracks name was changed to Arden Downs Speedway and continued to operate till 1941 when World War two broke out, when like many other speedways it closed.
The track did reopen again in 1947 after the war and two years after that a 1/3 mile track was built inside the 1/2 mile, This continued until 1960 when speedway racing ceased at the venue.
