1971 - CLAREMONT SPEEDWAY. 15th October 1971.Is Bob OLeary UnbeatableWell he was tonight, Bob O'Leary has won both the Handicap and the Scratch feature races tonight, here at Claremont Speedway.
The racing in all section's tonight was outstanding with both the Sidecar Handicap events being won by the former Victorian rider in Bill Sullivan and his passenger Bob Evans.
Other feature race winners on the night were, Greg Heatley in the Tq's, Keith Mann in the Speedcars, David Rockford in the Supermodifieds and Ken Reynolds in the Production Car's.

1971 - CLAREMONT SPEEDWAY. 5th November 1971.Top Stars feature at SpeedwayIt was a fantastic night of racing here tonight at the Claremont Speedway with a case of the cream rising to the top over all the classes.
Feature winners over the nights racing were as follows. Ray Smith in the Tq's, Laurie won the Speedcar feature, Gary Ellement was too good in the Supermodified's, Bob Biltoft was way too strong in the big Falcon in the Production Car feature. Bob O'Leary showed his class in the Solo Scratch Race and Graham Harris with his passenger Murray Grant winning the sidecar's.

Fireworks on and over the track
Staff photographer Barry Baker captured the thrill of the speedway and the spectacle of the fireworks display when he combined the two in this unusual picture of Bunbury solo rider Don Collins sliding through Pits Bend to victory in the Consolation handicap at Claremont Speedway.

1971 - CLAREMONT SPEEDWAY 17th December 1971Des NobleOne of the biggest nights of the season when the British Lions came to town for the Solo Test competition. Sadley it it also the night that one of our very own regular riders at Claremont lost his life while competing in the Mortlock Handicap event early in the night.
