1948 - HILLTOP SPEEDWAY
Hilltop Speedway opened in 1948 after the World War 2 ban on Motorsport was lifted. This 1/5 mile track was a dirt oval speedway and it was noted for it Stock car racing.

1948 - CENTRAL VIRGINIA RACEWAY
Not long after opening, Hilltop Speedway went through a name change to Central Virginia Raceway.

1952 circa - ZION CROSSROADS SPEEDWAY
Circa 1952 and the venue went through a major upgrade, The track surface was paved and the name was changed to Zion Crossroads Speedway. The speedway would only last to 1953 when it was forced to close down, it simply could not compete with some other track's in the area.
