2022 - GERALDTON SPEEDWAY SEASON OPENER 19th November 2022The ice has been broken at the Central Wests premier speedway on the weekend, up until now Geraldton Speedway has been using Speedway Australia only as the permit provider, but due to a problem with the WASDA Speedcar club pulling out of the meeting there was a mad dash to find another division to fill the program, The club had been approached by the Pro Modified division on an earlier occasion but had never taken them up on there offer. The whole meeting went ahead including the Pro Modified's and was a ripper meeting.
Its common knowledge that Speedway Australia doe not tolerate any part of speedway outside of there controls so the meeting had to be sanctioned by AASA, problem solved.
What a way to kick of the new Geraldton racing season with the Pro Mods adding that special wow factor to the nights racing with there normal side by side anticks a some fast cars coming from the rear. All stops were pulled as these very experienced group of racers used every available race line on the track. The quality in these cars and drivers goes very deep and it shows. The heats were well fought out before the feature event. Up front for the majority of the race was Matt Bosveld holding onto his lead on the curb line, while the current West Australian Champion Brad Ludlow ran the wall laying down his own racetrack for a fast track to the lead, Brad never got the chance to charge around the outside as both were so evenly matched, so that how they finished, Bosy 1st, Brad 2nd and a hard charging Brendan McKeagg previous duel State Champion finishing in third position.
