1967 - JEFCO SPEEDWAY.
The Speedway opened on the 30th of July 1967 as a high banked 1/2 mile paved oval, named Jefco Speedway and under the ownership of Hansel Wilson and Quentin Freeman who owned the drag strip next door.
The speedway was five year's in the planning and construction process, it was a very impressive looking venue when completed.

1969 - JEFCO SPEEDWAY.
In 1969 Bill France, the owner of Nascar made an offer to Wilson and Freeman to join into their company that owned the venue, in exchange for more and bigger Nascar events at the Speedway. He offer was met with a blunt No. France not happy withdrew all support and all sanctioning from the venue. The next few years for the track was pure hell for the track and owner's.

1970's - JEFCO SPEEDWAY.
The owner's tried to battle on with mainly local teams filling the nightly program's. But the problem was Jefco Speedway was a hammer down track, built for the big budget boys with there big dollar engine's. The local team's or many of them were low budget and couldn't afford to be buying new engine's when they broke. Eventually the track would close in the mid 1970's.

1977 - JEFCO SPEEDWAY.
In 1977 Ray Newman reopened the speedway and ran the venue for just that one single season.

1978 - JEFCO SPEEDWAY.
After Ray Newman walked in 1978, the speedway remained closed through 1978 - 1979 and 1980.

1981 - JEFCO SPEEDWAY.
In 1981 the track did reopen again, this time under the control of Mac Simpson and LC Smith.

1982 - GEORGIA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY.
By 1982 Nascar had returned to the speedway, Also the name of the venue was changed to Georgia International Speedway.

1983 - GEORGIA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY.
In 1983 Ron Neal would take over ownership of the speedway and ran special selected event only, he would guide the venue through a very successful period.

1993 - PEACH STATE SPEEDWAY.
In late 1993 ownership of the venue would pass to a group of investors from Atlanta. The name was once again changed, this time to Peach State Speedway.
