1947 - GARDEN ISLAND TT
On the 16th of November 1947 a one and only Motorcycle road race event was held on Garden Island, The circuit measured 3.1 miles in length.
Mal Gleadell recalls: i rode in this event, it was a terrible circuit, nothing more than a sand pit.

Garden Island was the scene of motor cycle racing on the 16th of November, Hundreds made the voyage from Fremantle and Rockingham to watch the spectacle which was presented on the roads built on the island during wartime. |
1947 - Start of the Senior TT of 31 miles, George Scott on the number 1 machine won the event.
1947 - Riders take the hairpin in the Junior TT event.
