1955 - STOCK ISLAND RACEWAY.
Stock Island Raceway opened in 1955 as a 1/3 mile paved oval track speedway. Stock Island was a Navel base and there personal built the venue.
Stock Cars were the feature on the program but only for two seasons, the track closed after the 1956 season closed and did not open again until 1960.

1960 -STOCK ISLAND RACEWAY.
In 1960 the track reopened with some good support from drivers and fans alike. The speedway did continue to operate through until 1967 when it closed at the end of that season.
