1973 - JERILDERIE PARK SPEEDWAY.
Jerilderie Park Speedway was the name given to Newcastle's Speedway long before it was known as the Newcastle International Motordrome.
Originally built and owned by the Laverick brothers (John Junior and possibly Don) who operated the nearby ship building operations - Carrinton Slipways, The original Promoter-Manager was one of their managers, John Lamb, Later on the management team of Alan Craig a keen motorcycle fan, and Terry Dangerfield took over, the track hosted many great riders and drivers through the early 1970's and up until November of 1976 when Peter Gurbriel took over.

1976 - NEWCASTLE MOTORDROME SPEEDWAY
By November of 1976 Peter Gurbriel who had been running Tralee Speedway in Canberra had taken over the running of Jerilderie Park Speedway, The name was changed to Newcastle International Motordrome, a more fitting name for the direction that Peter and his family wanted to take the venue in.
With the change in management came many major upgrades to the venue, from the control tower on top of the grand stand to the installation of a state of the art electronic timing system and major improvements to the spectator facilities.
The Gurbriel's operated the venue very successfully up until 1998 when David Lander took over, David ran the speedway up until 2002 when the venue was closed and the land sold off as Industrial lots.
