1948 - RACINE COUNTY SPEEDWAY.
Racine County Speedway or Franksville Speedway as it was also known as, opened in 1948, shortly after World War 2, as a 1/2 mile Dirt Oval track within the Racine County Fairgrounds. The racing was mainly a feature of Hot Rod and Stock Car racing. The Speedway racing at the Fairground came to an end at around about 1960.
