KEN LE BRETON (The White Ghost)6th January 1951Francis James "Ken" Le Breton was an Australian motorcycle speedway rider who was nicknamed the White Ghost due to his wearing of white leathers.
Le Breton served in the Australian Army as a gunner in World War 11, His service in New Guinea ended after he was hospitalized with Malaria and battle fatique, He was discharged in 1945 and began racing speedway the following year, He rode at the Sydney Sportsground and the Maitland Showground with moderate success and traveled to England in 1947, to ride with the New Cross Rangers, later moving to the Newcastle Diamonds and then to the Ashfield Giants in 1949 for two seasons before returning to Australia. Ken would loose his life after an accident at the Sydney Sportsground on the 5th of January 1951, he was taken to hospital with head and internal injuries but died the next day.
