1950 - TUCKERTON SPEEDWAYTuckerton Speedway opened as a 1/4 mile dirt oval speedway on the 30th of May 1950 running Stock Cars. The track was built by three locals who all raced, Bob Dawson as well as brothers, Bill and Tom Resch. The speedway was very popular during its Short life. During the tracks second season Bob Dawson who had announced his retirement at seasons end, rolled his racecar on the final lap of the feature and was killed. A memorial race was held in his honour the following week. Unfortunatly that was it for this once excitement generating venue. Tuckerton Speedway closed on the 21st of October 1951, the track was only about eight miles from Manahawkin Speedway.
