1959 circa - JACKSON SPEEDWAY
Jackson Speedway opened prior to 1959 as a half mile dirt oval speedway known as Jackson Speedway, with the feature attraction being Jalopy racing. In 1959 the track was changed to 3/10th of a mile in length. The venue was also renamed Jackson Sports Stadium and the rest of the venue received some upgrades.

The location of the race track did not alter the 3/10 mile oval with simply laid on top of the old half miler.
Later on a Go Kart track was added on the infield, It has been reported that the track owners had an interest in the new Jackson International Speedway as they wanted to follow the pavement racing popularity. The track closed in 1967 and demolished soon after.
