BILL MAY Snr
Daniel Taylor recalls: I was 7 or 8 years old and was photographed with Billy May number 72 and Bert Hampton number 31 a 1969 Mustang Mach 1.
In the feature race of 1974 Bert Harkins and Billy May were having a fued. On the last lap they both crasked into the railboud, the wall between turns three and four and Pat Wilson won the race. It was the first time i thought i had seen someone die.
Paul (Ryan?) had one of the hottest racing days of his life, when some idiot pulled across the race track and into the pits as Paul was about to set a lap record, instead Paul drove his car into the largest telephone poles in turn 1, uprooting three of them. My Dad also got the checker flag in a slow heat around 1975.
