1947 - BAXTER SPEEDWAY
Baxter Speedway was the first of two speedway's to be built in the region. Both were built an run by the Victorian Motorcycle Association.
It has been reported that the 1/4 mile dirt oval track was due to open in later part of 1946 but with some delays the official opening was in ealy 1947.
The regular program featured Solo Motorcycle and Sidecars. It is unsure at this as to weather Speedcar were on the program as well.
The life of this speedway was very short. The track closed after the 1949 racing season.
