1954 - FRANKLIN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS
Winchester Raceway was originally a 1/2 mile horse racing track on the old Franklin County Fairgrounds, Motor racing events were held, It was not until the 1/4 mile track was born that motor racing became a regular event, attracting Stock Cars and Late Model Sedans.
As time passed and the venue became out of favor with the drivers and then the public, it was forced to close in 2012.
The venue did re-open again in 2015 but with the ever increasing demand for housing land around the area, the track once again closed.
