1929 - WALNUT GARDENS SPEEDWAYWalnut Gardens Speedway opened in 1929 as a 1/2 mile dirt oval track, Managed by Harry Neal who hosted the Gold and Glory Sweepstakes for the coloured Speedway Association in 1931 and 1933.
The race track was part of a 72 acre resort, The Speedway closed in 1934 and the the land was sold to the Church of Nazarene in 1947.
