Work started on this quarter mile oval dirt track and figuire eight layout back in 1949. The completion date being 1951.

In 1951 this quarter mile dirt oval officially opened, and in 2023 is still operating very successfully.

1955 - RIVERHEAD RACEWAY
In 1955 the track surface was sealed with with asphalt and continued to live a long and profitable life. That was until 2012.

2012 - RIVERHEAD RACEWAY
In 2012 Hurricane Sandy damaged the venue so badly it had to be closed down. A rapid rebuild plan was put in place and the venue was back in operation by Christmas of that same year.
