1953 - SOLWAY PARK SPEEDWAY.
Located at the local showgrounds this track first opened to motorsport in 1953. In the beginning it ran with great success. Firstly with Motor Cycle racing and in the following season came the Tq Midget racing. Some of the countries biggest names came to race.
Unfortunately after this point, the racing became less frequent. They would run on and off and not a full schedule.

1961 - SOLWAY PARK SPEEDWAY.
In 1961, when the track was being run less, a Stock Car event was held. The track was torn up and the owners were not impressed. Racing was no longer wanted from that point on.
