1950's 1960's - BUNBURY BACK BEACH GO KARTS
Go Kart racing first started in the late 1950's with the formation of the Hurrican Go Kart Club in Perth, There first official race track was built at Burswood on the edge of the city.

Robert Britza recalls: This new craze of racing these small karts was brought to Bunbury in the late 1950's or the early 1960's, A track was marked out in a sealed car park directly opposite the Surf Club on the Back Beach and a demonstation was put on.
During this demonstration one Kart got out of control and speared into the crowd breaking a girl's leg.
