1961 - HESSTON SPEEDWAY
Located just off Route 26 in Hesston is a 3/8 mile dirt oval called Hesston Speedway, Opening in 1961, the track was operated by Peggy and Sonny Erickson until 1979.
Modified Coupes and "Hooligans" comprised the early program, which then evolved to "Bugs" and then Sprintcars, Semi Lates were then the leading class, with sprints comming in for special events only, The track did close in 1979.

1993 - HESSTON SPEEDWAY
In 1993 Hesston Speedway was re-opened by the Grubb family, running until 2004.

2004 - HESSTON SPEEDWAY
Ryan Lynn then purchased the speedway and ran it until 2009, It was then purchased by the original owners son, David R Eriksen, DR "the Dirt Doctor" and his wife, Cindy Eriksen, However, Davids battle with cancer forced them to close the track in mid 2013, JELT Enterprises, LLC purchased the track in 2014 and they operated until 2017.
