1938 - YELLOW JACKET SPEEDWAY
Yellow Jacket Speedway opened in 1938 not far from the previous track, as a 1/5 mile dirt oval track, identical in size to the previous one.

1939 - YELLOW JACKET SPEEDWAY
At the conclusion of the tracks second year of racing it was decided to pave the surface, racing continued through until 1942 when the track was forced to close because of World War 2.

1946 - YELLOW JACKET SPEEDWAY
Once the world wide ban on motor racing had been lifted in 1946 the speedway reopened. During this period the Midget Cars that had thrilled the fans with there dare-devil antics on the pavement had to make way for stock cars as they gained popularity. right across America.

1950 - YELLOW JACKET SPEEDWAY
By 1950 it was all but over, the city of Philadelphia was expanding at such a rate that the land had become too valuable to lay idol except for a handful of race meetings, so the land was sold off to house an industrial complex.
