Sanford Speedway operated from 1950 through to 1954, The dirt flat track was a 1/3rd mile egg shaped configuration with the turns squared off, both ends of the track were different in size, The track closed due to a lawsuit from the widow of a race fan who was fatally injured when a wheel came off a race car and struck him.
