1948 - GILL STADIUM
Gill Stadium was built as a baseball field, but became very popular as a short track speedway when a 1/5th mile dirt track was built within the stadium, The program was mainly Midget racing along with some Stock Car racing, The speedway only lasted the one year before the baseball community moved back in.

1952 - 87th STREET SPEEDWAY
By 1952 baseball had once again moved out and this allowed a proper paved speedway to be built, From this point on the track was known as 87th Street Speedway, The track ran with a great deal of success, with Midgets, Stock Cars and Hot Rods on the program, In 1956 the land was onsold and the track was demolished shortly after.
