1962 - LAKEVIEW HILL CLIMBIt wasn't until 1962 that the club secured a disused section of the Kings Highway to use as their regular hill climb, It was ten miles from Queanbeyan on the Bungendore Road.
It was 880 yards long and rose 282 feet, It was described by some leading drivers as to one of the best hill climb sites in Australia.
The hill climb boasted about its great spectator views of the whole course.
What is unique about this hill climb is the start line is in New South Wales and the finish line is on the Australian Capitol Territory border.
They view of Lake George which is about six miles away gave it its name.
