1965 - WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY
Wayne County Speedway opened as a 3/8 mile dirt oval speedway track on the 26th of June 1965. Pete Jacobs was the man who first conceptualized a race track on some farm land he owned south of Orrville, OH.
Within months of his decision to pursue building a dirt track Jacobs and original track officers, Wellman Lehman, Myron Werntz and Gary Bossler opened the gates to the Wayne County Speedway.

2021 - WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY LATE MODEL SPEEDWEEK 7th August 2021D e v o n M o r a n takes the win and the moneyA rain shower hit Wayne County Speedway just as qualifying was getting started and backed the races up for over two hours. Once the track crew put the track back into racing form, it turned into some fast action with the Renegades of dirt back in town for the already rained out once before, Don & Hans Gross Memorial.
Dresden's Devin Moran made it a one man show as he came out and set a new track record for the Malcuit Tavern Super Late Models with a time of 16.546 seconds, Devin won the Twarog Fast Qualifier bonus and then topped the dash to start on pole of the 40 lap, $5000, to win feature.

Devin powered away to win the feature by 1/2 a lap, in front of 2nd placed Chub Frank, 3rd place went to Ryan Missler, 4th Ryan Markham and 5th Cody Scott.
