1953 - COLUMBUS SUPER SPEEDWAY
Columbus Super Speedway opened in 153 as a 1/4 mile paperclip shaped dirt track with flat corners that ran Stock Cars.
Lost Dirt Tracks reported that the track became very popular with drivers and they were running Nascar sanctioned sportsman races. Later on, the cars changed to a version of a late model.
Reporting also that as time went on, the local racers were becoming upset with the lack of results they would get when racing against the touring drivers. That didn't stop the big names from coming and winning.

1960 - COLUMBUS SUPER SPEEDWAY
In 1960 the track came under the management of another operator who tried to make the speedway an amature only affair. That idea simply did not work, for what ever reason, the pits were empty and so was the spectator area. The venue then closed.
