1972 - POTOMAC SPEEDWAY
Construction on this what we know now as a 1/3 mile high banked clay oval speedway started in 1972. The man with the dream and the deternination was Orie P Beasley the owner of the land.

1973 - POTOMAC SPEEDWAY
The speedway opened in 1973 under the promotion of its owner Orie P Beasley, this continued through 1974 as well.

1975 - POTOMAC SPEEDWAY
Potomac saw a change in promotion in 1975 when farther and son team, Bill Lone senior and junior took over. This arrangement continued through until the end of the 1979 season.

1980 - POTOMAC SPEEDWAY
By 1980 Orie P Beasley was back running the speedway the speedway, but for 1 year only.

1981 - POTOMAC SPEEDWAY
In 1981 the speedway continued to operate but under the promotion of Sammy Long, who made his exit at the end of the 1985 season.

1986 - POTOMAC SPEEDWAY
Roger Bussler was the next to promote the track, with a two year stint that would end after the 1988 season.

1989 - POTOMAC SPEEDWAY
Pete Cameron was next to take over, his term was a much longer one, departing after the 2002 racing season.

2003 - POTOMAC SPEEDWAY
Next to take up the challenge was Rick Jones in 2003. His was another long term effort before departing in 2008.

2009 - POTOMAC SPEEDWAY
In 2009 Greg Gunter arrived at the speedway to take controll. In 2022 Greg is still the current promoter.
