2012 - CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS
Also known as the COTA circuit, this 3.427 mile or (5.515km) track is situated in Travis County near Austin Texas.
The circuit was first proposed in mid 2010 and construction commenced in December of 2010.
The construction was completed and declared safe for Motor racing on June the 13th 2012.
The venue was officially opened on the 21st of October 2012, Mario Andretti ran the first lap of the circuit in a Lotus 79, the car he drove when he became the last American driver to win the World Drivers Championship in 1978.

2012 - FORMULA ONE USA GRAND PRIX 18th November 2012The USA round of the world formula one Grand Prix was held at the new venue on the 18th of November 2012.
The race was held over 56 laps and was won by Lewis Hamilton.
The lap record for the 2012 event was set at 1:39.347 by Sebastian Vettel from the Red Bull team.

2013 - V8 SUPERCARSIn May of 2013 the Australian V8 Supercars made there first appearance in the United States of America with the running of the inaugural Austin 400 at the Circuit of the Americas venue.
The round consisted of a 2 race format the first held on the ??????, that race being won by Jammie Wyncup driving for the Red Bull team.
