It has been reported that the first motor racing event held in Pennsylvania was held at Schenley Park in Pittsburg on the 4th of July 1899, At the time the park was a major athletics venue.
AL McMurty was one competitor that drove an entry from the Pittsburg Motor Cycle Company and was a winner.
