The Mumbannar club formed in 1956 and proceeded to build a race track.

1957 - MUMBANNAR SPEEDWAY
The Mumbannar Speedway built by the local club opened on the 23rd of February 1957, for its one and only race meeting, The race track was built on property owned by Arthur Brown.
It has been reported that the South Australian Mumbannar Club packed up and moved its whole operation to Mount Gambier in South Australia and started up Borderline Speedway.
