MOUNT BARKER AROUND THE HOUSES 24th October 1959This event was run was solely run by the Mount Barker tq car club on the 24th of October 1959, Being the clubs first race meeting, some members of the Albany club came forward to help, such as George White.
A good crowd watched the race under perfect weather conditions giving the club a fantastic financial boost.
The circuit was rough with some sealed sections and three gravel corners which cut up as the meeting went on, There was plenty of dust as the back section of the track was all gravel, There were plenty of off's during the day, One Katanning driver hit a tree but escaped with only a split lip.
The fastest lap on the day went to Jack Rowe who was outstanding with his cornering skill's.
