1977 - CHARLTON RACEWAY.After the Downs Speedway Club left the Toowoomba Showgrounds the new site was purchased and the Charlton Raceway was built by a band of volenteers.
Opening day for the new track was the 23rd of April 1977.

With this bringing the racing season to a close, the committee were quick to pass on a big thanks to all Drivers, Crews, Fans, Families, Officials and Sponsors who gave there all this season through the ups and downs.
