Jimmy Davies from the USA won fifty three races out of fifty four at Rowley Park Speedway in his Offenhauser, amoungst those wins were the 1963 and the 1964 South Australian Speedcar Championship, In addition Jimmy won the 1963 Australian Speedcar Grand Prix at Sydney's Showground Speedway.
Jimmy was killed in 1966 aged thirty six at Santa Fe Speedway in Chicago when he crashed at high speed, It is thought that the accelerator may have jammed open before the crash.
