1957 - CARRATHOOL SPEED TRIALS
During February of 1957 a speed trial event was held at Carrathool, near Hay NSW. The event is best remembered by the fact that a driver in Jimmy Johnstone competing in his MG Special was killed during a practice run, when a local farmer drove his tractor out of a paddock and straight into the path of Johnstone.
