1997 - ELGIN OUTLAW RACEWAY

Elgin Outlaw Raceway opened in 1997 as a pear shaped banked dirt oval track within the local Rodeo grounds.
The management team at the venue aimed high with its regular programming, often featuring Late Model Sedans, Sprintcars as well as the ever popular Stock Cars.
In 2003 the then management team was looking at shutting down the speedway, that was until a new group took control and extended the tracks life through to 2008.

It was at this point that for what ever reason the Rodeo group shut down the speedway and turned the grounds back to a Rodeo venue only.
