1940's - POWELL MOTOR SPEEDWAY.
There are reports of Motor Racing being held at the Powell Road site prior to the second World War on a 1/2 mile dirt oval track that ran parallel to Powell Road in Columbus.

1946 - POWELL MOTOR SPEEDWAY.
After World War two Motor Racing did return to Powell Road, this time on a new 1/2 mile dirt oval that ran at right angles to the pre war version. Midget racing was the feature division, but by the early 1950's Stock Car racing was taking America by storm.

1953 - POWELL MOTOR SPEEDWAY.
In 1953 a 1/4 mile dirt track speedway was added within the 1/2 mile track, One year after laying in 1954 the 1/4 mile speedway was paved.

1959 - POWELL MOTOR SPEEDWAY.
In 1959 the larger of the tracks was resized to a 3/5 mile and paved, while the smaller was altered to a 1/3 mile but with a dirt surface.

1960's - POWELL MOTOR SPEEDWAY.
Regular racing had finish by the 1960's but a few events did follow up until the time the area was cleared for a housing development.
