1946 - EVANS SPEEDWAY
Evans Speedway got its start in 1946 just after world war 2 at the old Jackson Fairgrounds 1/2 mile horse racing track.
The weekly Saturday program was mainly Midget racing, but with the rising popularity of Stock Car racing it is believed that this is when the track was shortened to a 1/4 mile.
By 1952 the speedway had closed and it has been reported that the Fairgrounds were no longer.
